There’s a real difference between off-the-shelf curtains and curtains made for your windows. Hand-finished hems, properly weighted corners, linings that hang true, headings that pleat the way they should, the small things that turn fabric into a feature.

Pleat the way you like.
The heading defines the whole character of a curtain. Here are the four we make most often, pop in and we’ll show you each in fabric.
Pinch pleat
Tailored, evenly spaced pleats stitched at the top. Formal and elegant, the heading that says “these are properly made”.
Eyelet
Modern, relaxed look with metal rings threaded directly onto a pole. Beautiful uniform waves and easy to draw.
Wave
Continuous, soft S-fold heading that runs on a track. Contemporary and uncluttered, ideal for sheer or lightweight fabrics.
Goblet pleat
A stately, decorative pleat shaped like its name suggests. Best on tall windows where the heading is on show.
Tab top
Fabric tabs sewn to the top of the curtain, threaded onto a pole. Casual, country-cottage feel, charming on lighter fabrics.

Linings & interlinings
Cotton sateen, thermal, blackout, or interlined for that proper, weighty drape. Linings make far more difference than people expect, we’ll match the lining to the room.
Tracks & poles
From discreet ceiling tracks to traditional wooden poles and contemporary metal. We supply, measure and fit, including bay windows and awkward returns.
Tiebacks, valances & pelmets
Matching or contrasting tiebacks, soft pelmets, swags and tails, the finishing touches that lift a room from neat to designed.
Cushions & soft furnishings
Matching cushions, bedspreads, runners and Roman blinds in the same fabric, perfect for a co-ordinated scheme without it feeling overdone.
Alterations & repairs
Moved house and need curtains shortening? Linings tired after twenty years? We alter, re-line, re-head, re-weight and repair curtains, even ones we didn’t originally make. Bring them in for a quote.
Customer’s own fabric
Already found the fabric you love? Bring it to us and we’ll make it up into curtains, blinds, cushions or pelmets in our workshop. Just pop in for a make-up quote, we’ll tell you exactly how much you’ll need.

The things people ask about curtains.
Which heading style should I choose?
Pencil pleat is the all-rounder, classic and cost-effective. Pinch pleat (double or triple) gives a more tailored, hotel look. Eyelet is contemporary and easy to draw. Wave is the modern, ripple-fold heading that hangs in soft S-curves. Goblet pleats are formal and traditional. Tab-top is informal and cottage-style. We’ll talk through the right one for your room.
Do I need linings or interlining?
Standard cotton sateen lining adds weight, body and protects the face fabric. Blackout lining is essential for bedrooms and nurseries. Thermal lining cuts draughts and reduces heat loss. Interlining is a soft layer between face fabric and lining for a really plush, hotel-quality drape, especially worth it on bay windows and large drops.
How long does a curtain order take?
Most made-to-measure curtain orders are ready in three to four weeks from the day we have your final fabric choice and confirmed measurements. Some bespoke fabrics with longer lead times take a little longer, we’ll always tell you upfront.
Can you alter or repair existing curtains?
Yes. We shorten, re-line, re-head, re-weight and repair curtains, including curtains we didn’t originally make. Bring them into the showroom and we’ll quote on the work.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Yes, we make up customer-supplied fabric into curtains, blinds, cushions and pelmets in our workshop. Pop in with the fabric (or just the details) and we’ll quote on the make-up cost and tell you exactly how many metres you’ll need.
Do you fit the curtains too?
We can do, and most customers ask us to. We’ll supply and install the right track, pole or rail for your window, including bay windows, deep returns and difficult angles. Fitting is optional though, so if you’d rather hang them yourself, just say when you order and we’ll have them ready to collect.
